The shore is a pleasant diversion from the long

hard schlag of life.

I love it.

Most people are drawn to the sea.

It is a life force.

Who can resist a hot summer’s day and a trip to the beach.

Aesthetically a long coastlines is one of the few places

where views are not impeaded.  Limitless vistas!

The sea is our friend.

There are plenty of opportunities if you are close to the

beach.  If you are not, it takes much more planning.

Once you get there, for exercise it can be much better

than a visit to the gym.  Walk the sandy beaches.

It’s exhilarating, with all the physical exertion of a

good workout if you are moving about at a good pace.

Raising and lowering your arms as you walk is something i

have found useful.  You look like a flying chicken, but

feel like you’ve used all your muscles afterwards.

Pulling omething behind you on the sand, like a weighted sled also looks STUPID, but it is good exercise.

You can get super fatigued without really realizing it.  How

cool is that.

Being at the sea definately clears my mind of depression,

and airs out the cobwebs.

The fresh air definately invigorates the lungs, and I feel it

surely improves the circulation.  A good night’s sleep is

assured after such a day.

If you yourself want to give this a go, it’s good to start

with modest goals.  They can range from a few minutes walk

to  much bigger goals.

If you decide the ocean is for you, will probably want to visit

several places to see if the views and the beach walk agree with

you.   For me, I feel it’s best to just vacation and not purchase.

After all you are not there year round.

I like to see estuary life like crabs as the tide comes in and out.

Tidal creeks are among the most vibrant areas for water life.

It has long provided a protective environment for small crabs

and young fishes.

They are just such splendid things.

Recently I learned a little bit about how to protect them

though the use of the SmartCode.

It has some  various modules that a person can use to

insert to revise the breadth of the standard code and use it

then to calibrate onto ones local code and the specific

conditions in a municipality.  Get it?

There is 1 module that isdeveloping as we speak that

specifically concerns trees.

As I see it, 1 of the benefits we reep from this code is

specifically that one has experts from all over the country

working on it daily to improve the situation for free.

That’s certainly a plus.

Also because of the code and the environment, having a

series of habitats mentioned that makes sense.

Around here our range is from rural to urban.

Not everything works is a certain zoning.  Every city

has found that out the hard way.

There is never an effective one-size-fits-all solution.

Somebody always gets affected.

This includes trees and how we regulate trees in

a rural environment (if we do) should not be the identical

in urban and more congested spaces.

Having a  smart code that is flexible in this regard  gets

our natural resources what they need right from the get go.

Unless you want public broadcasting, you may not

know who he is.  he has tended over the years to

haunt the ivory tower known as PBS.

Known as a TV anchor for decades, he is also an author.

You know what TV anchors do? Lehrer and his team are

prepared for any number of scenarios, ‘n Lehrer will put

himself in his place that he is there when it is time for

an interview to happen. If there is a summit he will

be there, and he is a friendly face the president would

like to be talking to.

Maybe someone like Kerry could handle a Lehrer’s rebuke,

but even then, Lehrer is on top.

Lehrer doesn’t need to be seen as combative. People love him.

That’s what makes him so good.

He never looks desperate or out of control.

A million things could happen in an interview, and most of

them have already happened to Lehrer.  He’s ready for

anything.

Except for one or two, most of the country adores the man.

He needs to either (a) run for office; (b) run for a cabinet

appointment; or (c) wait for an intervening event to shake things

up to the extent that he gets appointed presidential spokesman

or something.  He is just too big a resource to waste at

PBS any longer.  At least that is my opinion.
No disrespect to PBS– I love PBS.

The blogosphere is waiting for him too!  And bloggers know

b.s. when they see it– and he is not that.

Here’s the thing: none of us are getting any younger.  Now

is the time to get him into some high position. Absolutely.

Does he contribute to the national discourse? Absolutely.

He is a gravitational force.

We need him.

Let’s look back at Google  and the Pyra Labs purchase.

Look at the big picture
Google’s success has largely been attributed to an obsessive

focus on search.

Other search engines succumbed alluring gewgaws,

transforming themselves into portals, Google’s mission

has always been to organize information.

So why did Google buy Pyra Labs?

Are they morphing into a content provider?

Are they losing their focus?

This isn’t the first time Google purchased a “community.”
Synergies of opportunities may be the reason.  So

we should keep this history in mind as Google ponders

other purchases like ebay and whatever else.
Skeptics wonder why Google does this stuff.  They are

crazy like a fox. Do not under rate them.

and moving into new areas of the city.

Here is my advice for how to get absorbed into

the neighborhood.

First, develop a plan. Don’t think that you can do this

without research, development and planning.

Although it may be difficult, you need to try to meet

people.  Ask yourself: What do you want to achieve

with your new lifestyle?  Then proceed from there.

Ask yourself as we,,: What type of impact do you want

to have in the neighborhood?  Do you want to be invisible

(not recommended)?  Do you want to become known?

What are your reasons for socializing? If you are unable

to answer the question, your work is cut out for you.
Getting a phone is first. Provide a way for people to

communicate with you after you pass out your tel

number.  Two-way communication is essential.

It provides  an improvement over things of the past,

like just running into people.

It is possible that you will receive negative reactions

by older neighbors.  Flow with it.  Often they are just lonely.

Although criticism can be frustrating, it can also be beneficial.

If you can be transparent, they will like that. Be completely

honest about your motives.

Having hidden agendas will only backfire.

This includes misleading.

Add a personal touch.   The value of socializing is in the

relationships you build.  Valuable trust and communication.

Remember, you are more likely to influence by a friendly face

so do not look cranky.
Become part of the community.  Take time to become part of

the dialogue and share your valuable knowledge.  Acknowledging

others will build trust.

Remember, you have to give to receive.

As with any sphere, the constant battle of emerging from

your cacoon of shyness, will be rewarded.  Yes, this is true.

Wordpress but that it is good enough.

Well maybe in your opinion.

Blogger is a blogging platform but it is owned by Google.

Is that where you want to blog???

It hosts blogs that are set up friendly.  I have to agree

with that.

It’s open source.  That’s true.

Starting this blog  I did not  use blogger.
Wordpress is easier to use but still does require  learning.

What it  has is  plugins, giving you cool features.

Blogger– free, yes.  Ads– yes. Web-based– yes. Easy–

yes.  Must be tech savvy– no.  Point and click– yes.
Most people don’t know you can use your own domain name.

I have to admit it is powerful tool. Blogger is just not for me.

Do you need a dumb jock CMS?  Then Blogger is for you.

One day something is a hot trend and the next

year nobody remembers it.

Take this example that  everyone probably knows.

Google acquired Finnish Jaiku.   Any body remember that now??

Ha!

At the time it took me by surprise, Google had it in their mind

to acquire Jaiku instead of Twitter.  Go figure.

Their reasons, not entirely logical,  included:

•Because it was cheaper.

-Because J. had a better mobile platform.

-Because Google settled.

-Because g. likes second best.

-Because they want to ruin Goog.

-Because it is a fake-out and they are planning something else.

At the time commoners were assuming Google knew what

they were doing.  Ha!  Were they really trying for Twitter

through the back door by getting a price decrease?

Now some bloggers wonder still about Twitter as a viable

asset.  Huh?  Give me a break.  It is still an asset that

has made no money.  Is that an asset?

are on TV should be paid attention to. Or radio.

People like Rush Limbaugh or Bill Clinton.

Limbaugh is a great asset– people sometimes go in the

opposite opinion as what he might say.

Do people like him fairly represents the people?  I’m

interested in the notion that we should all be involved–

but really very few people express their opinions on things.

People object to Limbaugh, but heck, at least he is saying

something, you know?

That Limbaugh is listened to and receives publicity,

well, whose fault is that? Ours.

Does Limbaugh really influence or matter way after

the news of the day is over?  I don’t know.

I don’t mean to be snide.  I just wonder.

My own tastes in celebr ities does not run in his

direction.  I like the intellectuals of yesteryear.

On the occasions that I have listened to him, he was pretty

stong-minded.

He does have lots of listeners and a certain amount of

influence, I would think.  Limbaugh is indeed very good

at what I like to call being the blustering baffoon authority.

It is a fine line to walk. People will either call him a

genius on a given day, or else they will say he is an

idiot.

At least he is putting himself out there. For that I give him

credit.  Of course, he is laughing all the way to the bank, too.

Do you think this is true?

Specifically I was thinking of economics, and how early

leadership by investors can lead the market.  Should

we be seeking out the important bellwethers?

This could be very useful for us.

For instance, a market bellwether can be a leader in any

given field.  It could be  interest rates or it could be

global equity markets.
I grew interested in this term.  The term comesfrom the

Middle English Bellwether - referring to placing a bell

around the neck of a ram -  in order that he might lead

its flock.

A bellwether in ones personal life would have to be very

sensitive or noticeable, or else we would not pay attention

to it.

I am going to start looking out for these in my own life, as

well as in other fields, and then perhaps I can apply

those lessons as well.

Hopefully it gets printed okay.

I did want to clarify and enlighten everyone about my week.

Had a great time with no work.

The good news is that construction begun on my extra room.

The bad news is that my room is huge project that will split

my time into different categories.

So now as construction drones on, I cannot conduct my life

as previously. Everything is somewhat chaotic, but

hopefully it returns to normal soon enough.

Prior to this I didn’t have no rooms specifically for my

computer.   Trying to continue in that untennable

situation was something I could not do.

I would certainly welcome any and all advice currently

on how to better maintain during this construction situation.

I just had no idea it would be quite so invasive into

all the areas of my life– particularly with the dust!!

I look forward to all your input and sage advice to help

me with this.  And if I can offer any words of stability or
